About the Department

In accordance with the decision of the Rector of the University of Economics and Pedagogy No. 1 dated August 30, 2025, concerning amendments to the organizational structure of the university, the Department of Foreign Languages was established on the basis of the former Department of Pedagogy and Social and Humanitarian Sciences.

The department officially commenced its academic, methodological, and research activities in the 2025–2026 academic year, marking the beginning of its institutional development.

Since 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages has been headed by the Head of the Department, Kurbонов Umidjon Egamberdiyevich, who oversees its academic and administrative activities.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, the department’s teaching and research activities are carried out by a qualified academic staff, including Associate Professors Nasrulloyeva Nasiba Sadulloyevna, Turumova Nilufar Erkinovna, and Rakhimova Nigora; Senior Lecturer Kuchiboyev Mansur Abdimuradovich; and Assistants Narzikulova Ferangiz Rustamjonovna, Yunusova Dilorom Mukhitdinovna, Khakberdiyeva Gulrukh Tolibovna, Ismoilova Charos Shukhrat qizi, Otamurodova Munisa Jabbor qizi, Abdullayev Shahobiddin Abduali ogli, and Lutfieva Amina Safoidinovna.

The academic staff make a substantial contribution to the department’s development, accounting for 34% of its overall scientific potential and ensuring a high standard of instruction and research in the field of foreign languages.

Main Objectives of the Department

· To deliver high-quality instruction in foreign languages (English, French, German, and others);

· To carry out educational, instructional and methodological, spiritual and educational, scientific, and research-methodological activities;

· To identify gifted students and organize systematic work with them;

· To provide targeted training for gifted students in accordance with their individual abilities, interests, and academic inclinations;

· To involve gifted students in fundamental research projects, academic clubs, and creative research teams;

· To organize and ensure the participation of gifted students in scientific and practical conferences, including university-level, national, and international conferences, symposia, academic Olympiads, and competitions;

· To prepare gifted students as candidates for the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, named state scholarships, and participation in academic Olympiads, as well as to support their successful outcomes;

· To provide material and moral support to high-achieving students and their academic supervisors;

· To organize round-table discussions and academic debates involving gifted students, representatives of the academic community, university administration, and experienced faculty members.
