About the Department
In accordance with the decision of the University Council No. 1 dated August 30, 2025, on making changes to the organizational structure of the University, the Department of Psychology and Social-Humanitarian Sciences was established on the basis of the former Department of Pedagogy and Social-Humanitarian Sciences at the University of Economics and Pedagogy. The establishment and development of the department are directly linked to structural reforms at the university and the consistent improvement of scientific-methodological activities in the fields of psychology and pedagogy.
The activities of the Department of Psychology and Social-Humanitarian Sciences, established in the 2025/2026 academic year, officially began during this period. From 2025 to the present, Usmonov Farrux Nasirdinovich has been serving as the Head of the Department. During the 2025/2026 academic year, the department’s academic staff includes Associate Professors Turg‘unbayev Achil, Umarov Abdumannon Abdullayevich, Obloqulov Javlonbek Jaloliddinovich, Irisbayeva Manzura Nurmamatovna, Mustafayev Jafar Shomirzayevich, Urunov Aziz Shakirovich, Yaxyayeva Umida Sharifovna; Senior Lecturer Muzaffarov Navruzxon Baxronovich; and Assistants Babayeva Nazira Asatullayevna, O‘ngalov Laziz Amriddin o‘g‘li, Tavmuradov Jamshid Elmuradovich, and Abduvaxidov Dilshod Narbotirovich. They have been working devotedly for the development of the department. The department’s scientific potential is 57%.
To enhance the scientific and pedagogical potential of the department, foreign specialists have also been involved. In particular, Han Ziyun, a professor invited from the People’s Republic of China, is delivering lectures and seminars in the subject World History 3 and 4 for second-year students of the History program.
MAIN TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT:
- · carrying out educational, educational-methodological, spiritual-enlightenment, scientific, and scientific-methodological activities;
- · organizing the identification and selection of talented students;
- · organizing targeted training of talented students based on their abilities and academic interests;
- · involving talented students in fundamental research, scientific clubs, and creative teams;
- · preparing candidates among talented students for the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, named state scholarships, and academic olympiads, and ensuring their success;
- · providing material and moral support to high-achieving talented students and their supervisors.
