About the Department
In September 2024, the Department of Pedagogy and Social Sciences and Humanities was established at the Samarkand campus of the University of Economics and Pedagogy with the aim of training highly qualified specialists in pedagogical and humanitarian fields.
The department brought together experienced and highly qualified faculty members in various disciplines, including Uzbek language, English language, Russian language, primary education, psychology, biology, history, philosophy, and religious studies.
For a certain period, the department was headed by the experienced specialist Farrukh Nasriddinovich Usmonov. Under his leadership, significant efforts were made to ensure the effective organization of the educational process, enhance faculty performance, and modernize curricula in accordance with contemporary academic standards.
In order to optimize academic directions and further improve the quality of education at the university, a reorganization was carried out on August 26, 2025, based on the rector’s official order. As a result of this restructuring, the independent Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages was separated from the Department of Pedagogy and Social Sciences and Humanities.
This reorganization aimed to ensure the in-depth teaching of Uzbek and Russian philology in line with modern educational standards, as well as to expand large-scale scientific and practical activities in the fields of linguistics and literary studies.
