In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 2, 2017 No. PQ-2789 “On measures to further improve the activities, organization, management and financing of research activities of the Academy of Sciences”, the Department for the Training of Scientific and Scientific-Pedagogical Personnel at the Samarkand campus of the University of Economics and Pedagogy carries out its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees, resolutions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions and orders of the Board of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the University Charter and decisions of the University Council, as well as orders of the Rector of the University.

The Department ensures the implementation of the above-mentioned documents and carries out activities for organizing research in priority, promising and advanced scientific areas.

To increase the scale of scientific research of a relevant fundamental and applied nature and to create mutually beneficial methods of personnel training on the basis of the development of integration processes with scientific research institutes and production associations.

Organization of methodological management of scientific research work carried out in departments and laboratories.

Assistance in improving the scientific and technical efficiency of scientific research work.

Study of factors related to scientific research and its directions of development, as well as their popularization among the university community.

Scientific developments of university scientists in the field of science and technology, and the creation of monitoring of consumers of finished products and intellectual property.

The main tasks include:

– formation and planning of topics carried out on the basis of budgetary funds and economic contracts;

– organization of participation in scientific project competitions, and collection of proposals and recommendations for their development;
 – development and implementation of the university scientific work plan;
 – development of regulatory and methodological documents necessary for the system of scientific work;

– development of methodological guidelines for the practical application of scientific developments;

– providing instructions on maintaining documentation for topics carried out on the basis of budgetary funds and economic contracts;

– preparation of the annual report on the scientific activities of the university and its submission to the Scientific Council;

– conducting statistical analysis based on indicators of research results.

Reviewing reports of all scientific conferences, seminars and training seminars held at the international, republican, regional and university levels, and submitting relevant recommendations and proposals to the ministry and relevant higher organizations.

Establishment of planned cooperation with sectoral research institutes of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and other organizations in order to improve the effectiveness of scientific research.
